FIELD WORK

This early work, explored creating circles within the landscape, using material objects and clothing disrupting the landscape with my body's' actions.

The trousers that are worn in the performance were made in order to create a moving shape within a natural surrounding interested in the aesthetic and image of the body.

This work was strongly influenced by the artist Rebecca Horn in particular the work ‘Unicorn’. In which she constructed a long white cylinder that tapered to a point like an animalistic horn, she created this from fabric wood and metal and connected it to the wearer by a series of straps that extended down the neck and torso, securing the body in a state of perfect posture.

Like Rebecca Horn, the trousers allowed me to test the limits of my expression through movement, heightening the visual impact of my movements through how my body manipulated the material of the trousers.
